09-06-2009 Great win for Thin Red Line
THIN RED LINE recorded a comprehensive victory in a 1m 2f handicap at Pontefract on June 8.
The Red Ransom colt benefited from a step up in trip from a mile as he stayed on well to win by three and a half lengths under Paul Hanagan.
He was held up in touch early on as Captain Imperial set a generous pace upfront. Hanagan was never far away on trainer Ed Dunlop’s charge and started to make progress from over 2f out.
Thin Red Line unleashed a smooth challenge on the outer to take charge with over a furlong to go and kept extending his advantage as they’ve gone through the closing strides.
Scoring at odds of 7/1, this was his second career win, having landed a nursery at Lingfield last December.
