28-05-2009 Busy Thursday for Dunlop team
ED Dunlop is hoping for more success as he sends out a number of horses from his La Grange stables over the next few days.
The Sheikh Hamdan-owned WASAN is one of six runners today for Dunlop on what is set to be a busy day for the trainer and his staff.
Wasan was highly progressive for his connections last year winning three of his five starts but didn’t spark on his seasonal bow over 1m at York during the Dante meeting.
The son of Pivotal has been declared to run in a competitive 1m 2f conditions race at Lingfield and will be ridden by Richard Hills .
Dunlop said: “We were disappointed with his run at York but things didn’t fall his way and it probably wasn’t far enough for him.
“He was an improver last year but has taken his time to get going this year. The race is competitive but we are looking forward to seeing how he performs.”
For the same connections on the same card SILAAH lines up in the 6f handicap. He was last seen finishing sixth behind Hustle at Newmarket 12 days ago.
.
Dunlop added: “The ground was a little quick for him at Newmarket and he should go well back on the all-weather.”
SPRING ADVENTURE also runs at Lingfield, contesting a 12-runner handicap over a mile.
Also, today ARABIAN SPIRIT Arabian Spirit is declared to run in the Whitsun Cup at Sandown.
He was 11th of 27 in the Victoria Cup after finishing a fine second in the Spring Cup at Newbury.
Dunlop said: “The ground was a bit fast for Arabian Spirit last time in the Victoria Cup. He is drawn nine of 15 which isn’t bad, so hopefully he should go well.”
