03-03-2009 Dubai Storming on the upgrade
Dubai Storming maintained his progressive profile with a decent staying performance that secured success at Wolverhampton on March 2. Salem Suhail’s son of Storming Home opened his account at the third time of asking, scoring at Kempton last month.
For his latest assignment, Dubai Storming was stepped up in trip to 1m 4f. Tackling handicap company on what was his fourth start, he was given a well-judged ride by jockey Jamie Spencer.
While Shaker Style cut out a modest pace on the front end, trainer Ed Dunlop’s charge was held up and travelled well within himself for much of the contest.
As the tempo increased from 3f out, Dubai Storming had all the angles covered and Spencer launched him with a concerted challenge on the inner.
He led at the furlong pole and saw out every yard of the trip, holding the late thrust of Sounds Of Jupiter for a half-length triumph.
