03-01-2009 First Winner at La Grange Stables for Ed Dunlop
Romantic Queen became Ed Dunlop’s first runner of the year and winner since moving into La Grange Stables just two weeks ago, when she broke her Maiden at Wolverhampton on Friday.
Partnered by Dane O’Neill, the three year old daughter of Medicean was held up early on in the six furlong Maiden before making headway two furlongs out. She took up the lead inside the final furlong and went on to win by a comfortable two lengths from the favourite, Minotaurious.
We are delighted that she has been able to get her head in front, as she as been running consistently but kept coming up against one too good for her. Romantic Queen has come out of the race well and she may go to Lingfield on Monday for a six furlong Handicap.
We are thrilled to have sent out our first winner from the new yard and let’s hope that it is the first of many!
