19-11-2008 Update on Jewson sponsored horses
The horses at Ed Dunlop’s have been in good form recently and we have sent out eight winners in the last two months. Below is a brief update on some of the horses sponsored by Jewson.
Mischief Making was our first winner of 2008 when she broke her Maiden tag at Southwell. She won again at Southwell and then we sent her to Catterick for a Conditions race where she won again. We let her take her chance in the Pretty Polly Stakes, which we won with Dalvina last year. She ran a cracking race and although finished sixth of seven, it was a blanket finish and the trip was too short for her. After a disappointing run in France we gave her a mid season break. She returned to training in the late summer and in October, she won the River Eden Listed race for fillies. This was a fantastic result as she is a well bred filly and adding black type to her credentials will have improved her broodmare value significantly. We will hopefully run her again before the end of the year.

Mischief Making
Arabian Spirit is another who has been consistent all season and has gone from strength to strength. He started the season on an official mark of 75 and is now rated 90. Arabian Spirit won his maiden at Chepstow in July and then went on to be placed in his subsequent four races. We were delighted to see him get his head in front again at Kempton in October when he won the feature race of the day. Arabian Spirit will be given a holiday over the winter before he returns to training next year as a four year old.

Arabian Spirit
Izzibizzi had some decent form to her name as a two year old and finished second in the valuable Watership Down Stud Sales race as Ascot in September. She was plagued by niggling problems throughout the first half of the season and we have had to be very patient with her. We took her Lingfield in September for a seven furlong Maiden and she finished a pleasing third. We were delighted that she got her head in front at Kempton a month later and she followed this up with an impressive win at Newbury in a fillies Handicap. A slowly run race did not see her at her best last time out and she finished fourth. Izzibizzi will remain in training as a four year old.

Izzibizzi
Chantilly Tiffany has been a star this season. She started off the season in good style when she finished second to the Group winning Heaven Sent. She was fifth at Goodwood and then fourth at Pontefract, where she found the extended mile too far for her, but then disappointed at Newmarket. After a short break she went to Ascot and ran in the Shergar Cup. A change in her running tactics saw her held up in the rear of the field early on. She lay down her challenge a furlong out and although she got her head in front, she was just headed close to home and finished second. On the back of this run we took her to Dusseldorf for a Listed race. She relished the soft ground and again was held up early on before coming with a run up the outside a furlong out. She took up the lead and ran on impressively to win by four lengths. She then ran at Doncaster where perhaps she hit the front too soon and finished second in the Listed Sceptre Stakes. We had targeted the Group 3 Badener Sprint Cup for her after her win in Dusseldorf and she went there in October in good form. It was a competitive field and they went very fast through the early stages. Chantilly Tiffany was held up last but when the field turned for home two furlongs out, she showed an impressive turn of foot and took up the lead inside the final furlong. She was pushed out to the line and won by a comfortable two lengths. We were absolutely thrilled with this result, as she is a filly we have always held in high regards and typically of her sire, she seems to be improving with age. Chantilly Tiffany will remain in training next season.
