We were delighted to see Merchant Navy win his Maiden at Pontefract last week. The two year old gelding was partnered by Tom Queally and was being dropped back in trip to six furlongs, having not got home over seven furlongs last time out. He was held up in the early stages of the race before being produced with his challenge a furlong out. He ran on strongly to win the race by half a length from Ramatni.

We will now look for another winning opportunity for him before he goes to the Horses In Training Sale.
