Zamjar Ends 2016 On A High

Sat 31 December 2016

Dual winner Zamjar

Zamjar travelled up to the North East to contest a 0-85 6f Nursery at Newcastle yesterday, The son of Exceed And Excel had shown he was back in form when second to a promising type at Lingfield recently. Josephine Gordon kept the son of Exceed And Excel at the rear of the five runner field during the early stages of the race as White Royal cut out the early running. He gradually settled into the contest having been keen in the early stages of the race and when Josephine asked him to quicken, he shot clear up the stands side to win comfortably by three lengths.

The stiff, straight six furlongs suited our colt well and this performance is likely to see him end up on a career high mark. Given he has finished one length further clear of White Royale than at Lingfield, it looks like he has progressed from his last run, the second was six pounds wrong on official ratings but looks to have improved on his Maiden win,

Congratulations must go to Mr Abdullah Al Naboodah the owner of Zamjar. He has been a big supporter of the stable this season and has some exciting prospects here for 2017. It was fantastic to win with the last runner of the calendar year and bring up the fifty first winner of the campaign. There were some firsts too as it was our first winner at Newcastle since the all-weather surface has been laid and it was Josephine Gordon's first winner for us. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at La Grange for their hard work this year and it would be fantastic if we can build on a solid campaign next year. Happy New Year to everyone, we wish you every success in 2017.
