Walking home from Side Hill.

Some rain overnight, but dry and overcast this morning.

A number of Highclere owners were here third lot to see Opposition and Fieldsman in routine exercise.

One runner this evening with Hajeer lining up in the seven furlong nursery at Kempton. She made an encouraging debut at the course in May, but she has disappointed us in her two efforts since. The extra furlong and switch to handicap company should see her in a better light and this is a pretty moderate contest, although the Karl Burke-trained Little Lotte has been well supported this morning.

Seven declarations for Friday and we are keeping everything crossed the forecast rain materialises for most of them. Ejbaar and Sagaciously head to Newbury, Justice First, Field Of Light and Tartoor go to Newcastle while Al Hamd and Hanno are July Course bound.

Six entries for Tuesday with two at Kempton and four at Chelmsford.

Yesterday’s announcement that Gleneagles is heading to York for the Juddmonte International is superb. A showdown between him, Golden Horn, Time Test and The Grey Gatsby would undoubtedly be the race of the season.

Finally, every racing fan must watch the following trailer of Being AP, the feature film that documents the final season of the undisputed jumping king. It looks a cracker! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrIbDGwwE7Y&feature=youtu.be
