Vision Clear

Good morning from Newmarket. A sad day today as I will be heading to London to attend my father’s memorial service. I hope it will be a fitting send off to one of the great trainers and a wonderful father.

After a series of frustrating results, it was good to see Dubai Frame come home in front at Lingfield yesterday. He travelled well throughout the race and stayed on well in the straight to win decisively.  He was not winning out of turn and I feel he will progress again with racing.

Today the quest begins again with runners at Yarmouth and Beverley. Global Myth is first to the starter at 2.30 in the 7-furlong maiden at Yarmouth. He has been very disappointing thus far, showing little Novice races at Kempton and Goodwood. He is bred to be much better than he has shown, and I am hoping for some improvement today, and then we can ascertain his level of ability. Gerald Mosse takes the ride.

We return to Beverley with Vision Clear for a 12-furlong handicap at 3.25. He produced his best performance when winning over course and distance on his penultimate start before disappointing at Wolverhampton. Prior to this he had been consistent with placed efforts at Thirsk and Doncaster before winning at Beverley, and I hope a return to turf can revive his fortunes. David Allan takes the ride.

All the best,

Ed.
