Fabulous Red, who was second at Salisbury yesterday afternoon

After another bright and breezy morning at HQ the pleasant weather is continuing to defy tradition, bringing a sunnier disposition to humans and horses at La Grange. Lady luck did not shine on us yesterday, with Muraadef and Atwaar meeting plenty of trouble in running, and Fabulous Red losing by a short-head at Salisbury. Most importantly, all returned safe and sound and will try again in the near future. Today I send three to compete on course with two running at Haydock, and one at Chelmsford this evening.

Roca Magica is first under orders when she runs in the 6f ‘Enhanced World Cup Specials At 188Bet British EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes’ (2.40). She was green on her debut at Goodwood, but still showed promise before fading in the final furlong. The experience gained on debut will not be lost on her, and I think she will be more streetwise for her second run today. As usual, it looks to be a very competitive affair, but I hope Magica can show improvement today.

Also, at Haydock, Vision Clear runs in the 1m6f ‘Play Live Roulette At 188Bet Casino Handicap’ (4.40). Vision made a fine return to action over 10f at Salisbury, taking the lead 50 yards from the line only to lose out in a bob of heads to Jack Regan. While disappointing to lose on the day, it was very encouraging to see him run so well after his break. Today he steps up another 4 furlongs and I think this could unlock some further improvement. It is a small field and a strong case can be made for each of his four opponents. If Vision progresses from Salisbury, I hope he can go close in a tightly-knit handicap.

Last of the day is Alhram in the 1m2f ‘Transparent Recruitment Solutions Ltd "Confined" Novice Stakes ‘(5.20). We have been patient with Alhram and the well-bred son of Intello has his first day at school today. He is ready to start his career in what looks to be a tough novice, but he needs the experience and I hope will learn plenty today.

All the best,

Ed.
