Turner Steers Satwa To Success

Fri 22 January 2010

SATWA GOLD maintained the good form of the Ed Dunlop string when striking at Lingfield on January 22. La Grange runners have showed up particularly well in the past three and a half weeks with nine out of its 10 runners finishing in the first four.

In that time span there has been three winners and three seconds, meaning 60 per cent of Dunlop's runners since December 29 have made the first two.

Satwa Gold was second on his previous outing a week earlier but went one better in a 1m 4f seller. Ridden by Hayley Turner, the five-year-old was held up in mid-division before being switched right down the home straight.

He readily made up ground to head affairs entering the final furlong and wasn't asked too serious a question in running out the winner by a length and a quarter.

It was Satwa Gold's fourth career win in 12 starts.
