Noodle enjoys life.

A little overcast but still pretty warm.

Three gallant performances from our runners yesterday. Mulhaam shaped well at Chepstow and looks up to landing a similar maiden in the coming weeks, Taqneen ran his best race of the season at Newcastle and just bumped into an improving sort, while Scrutinise battled superbly at Kempton and was just denied by a similarly lightly-raced sort.

Three go this afternoon starting with Global Avenger at Wolverhampton. We are putting blinkers on to sharpen him up and these appear to have helped him at home.

Rock Lobster is likely to need the run at Haydock but a mile and a quarter on good ground seem his optimum conditions at the moment. We have a good draw and Graham Lee while this is a drop in grade (the form of his Windsor run has worked out remarkably well).

Lastly, Kitten’s Red lines up in the lady amateur riders handicap at Brighton and we are pleased to have secured Serena Brotherton. Trip and ground are perfect for him while we know he handles the course. He was disappointing at Chepstow but the ground had become tacky there and this looks a good race for him.

Three declarations for the weekend. Red Avenger lines up in the Shergar Cup Mile – we await to see who rides. Pyla goes at Lingfield under Oisin Murphy while Red Galileo heads to Deauville on Sunday for the Prix de Reux. James Doyle will partner him.

One entry for Wednesday with Hajeer given the option of the seven furlong nursery at Kempton.

I fly back from Spain this evening so I am back fully operational from tomorrow morning, and the cricket has been some accompaniment to the final day of the holiday. 60 all out and eight for Broad – just incredible!

Back tomorrow.
