Snow Fairy could be back for Pretty Polly

Sun 29 May 2011

SNOW FAIRY, who had to miss the Sheema Classic in Dubai in March, having sustained minor bone damage to her right fore cannonbone a week before the US$5m race, could be back on the racecourse at the end of next month, with the Pretty Polly Stakes at The Curragh on June 25 the filly's likely comeback target.

Ed said:"Snow Fairy is in good order. She has been back cantering for three weeks now, but it was not untill the middle of last week that she really looked back to her old self. She is looking well again, but Royal Ascot was always likely to come too soon and was ruled out some time again, and, in any event, the Pretty Polly is one of the few races where she can race exclusively against her own sex, so, hopefully, if we don't get any more hiccups she will be back for Ireland."

Besides being a dual Oaks heroine, Snow Fairy enjoyed a lucrative winter globe-trotting last year, winning both the QE11 Commemorative Cup in Japan and the Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin, and, while come the autumn the filly, who revels on fast ground, will be on her travels again, the Group 1 Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on July 30 is also very much still a possibility.
