Teenage Gal

Good afternoon from Newmarket! There has been a change in the weather here, with severe rain storms hitting yesterday evening. As a result we were forced to pull out Mudallel yesterday and Amlad today on account of the ground.

That leaves us with just one runner today, namely Teenage Gal in the seven-furlong 0-70 fillies’ handicap at Lingfield at 7.30. She was placed in the second of two starts as a two-year-old, and showed up well on her reappearance at Newmarket. That was followed by a disappointing effort at Goodwood when dropped to six furlongs, whilst the draw scuppered her chances at Kempton last time. With the benefit of hindsight, it wasn’t too bad a run at Kempton, as she made up a bit of ground from an impossible looking position, and the race is working out nicely. We are in another competitive little race this evening, and have the in-form Ben Curtis booked. It might be asking a lot, but provided the ground isn’t rattling, then she might have a small each way chance.

Best wishes,
Ed.
