Global Art

Good morning from Newmarket. After a disappointing performance from Venedegar yesterday, we return to the fold today with two runners at Lingfield, and two at Chelmsford.

While Sandown yesterday was below par from Venedegar, I believe it was not his true form, as he pulled hard on the outside of the field in a slowly- run affair. He is one not to give up on yet.

Today we race in hope rather than expectation with Come Back To Me having her second run in the 2.30 at Lingfield over a mile. She was slowly away on debut at Salisbury and trailed in well beaten on the day. Today we hope for an improved showing and some more clues to her future level. Fran Berry takes the ride.

Next up is Global Art in the 4.35 at Chelmsford over a mile. He was an impressive winner last time out over course and distance, finally delivering on the promise he has shown us at home. The handicapper has had his say raising him 7lb for his 2 ½ length victory, and today he tackles older, more experienced handicappers. He is in good form at home, and I am hopeful he can overcome the rise in the weights. This looks to be stronger opposition, but I give him a solid EW chance. Luke Morris rides.

It is back to Lingfield for the next runner where Navajo Squaw runs in the 4.50 over 1m 6f. She has been disappointing thus far, and hopes are pinned on improvement coming over the extended trip. She needs to show considerable improvement to take a hand in this. Joey Haynes takes the ride.

Finally, for today, Global Style goes to post at Chelmsford in the 5.10 over 1m 5 ½ f. He again has been disappointing since a promising run at Redcar in May. Hopes here rest on a return to an extended trip again on an AW surface.  Rab Havlin takes the ride.

All the best,

Ed.
