Red Gulch Impresses at Wolverhampto

Mon 29 March 2010

RED GULCH got off the mark at Wolverhampton this afternoon. The son of Kyllachy, sent off the 6/4 favourite, had clearly benefited from his debut third last backend and looks to be a decent prospect for connections this term.

In the early stages of the contest jockey Kieren Fallon settled Red Gulch at the front with one other and he always travelled like the best horse in the race.

On entering the straight Fallon kicked for home and his mount showed an impressive turn of foot to put the race to bed in a matter of strides.

There was still a hint of inexperience as Red Gulch edged towards the far-side rail but he only needed to be pushed out under hands and heels to record a two and a quarter length success.
