Good afternoon from Newmarket. After a successful days racing at Lingfield on Saturday, we head to Windsor for just the one runner this afternoon. Before we talk about that, I would just like to tip my hat to my assistant trainer Tory and racing secretary Angela, who both completed a mud run yesterday in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance service! A great effort by both girls and a very good cause, which you can contribute to at the following just giving page...

I will leave you to browse the pictures at your leisure..!

Back to racing matters, and Baasha takes his chance in the mile and a quarter 0-70 handicap over a mile and a quarter at 3.50. He was a good, consistent performer for the majority of the AW season, but his form just tailed off somewhat towards the end. We have tried to freshen him p in recent weeks, and have even done a bit of schooling with him, in a bid to restore him back to his very best.

A return to the grass will hopefully benefit, whilst we hope they go a nice pace, as that is the scenario that he really needs in order to give of his best. He is fairly handicapped, has form in the book which indicates he can be just as good on the turf as the AW, and he seems in excellent form at home. This is not the strongest 0-70 you will see run all year, so I keep my fingers crossed that he can run respectably, but I must caution that by saying do need a form revival to be competitive.  Dan Muscutt takes the mount.

All the best,
Ed.
