Global Humor

Good Morning. After the unfortunate news regarding Red Verdon, we can now get back to concentrating on domestic matters. We have a busy week ahead, and Global Humor gets the ball rolling in the 7.00 at Kempton this evening.

This horse has been an ongoing conundrum, as he possesses a bit of ability, but is fragile both mentally and physically. He won a seven-furlong novice at Wolverhampton last season, on which form he looks chucked in from his current rating of 70. Of course, to have got such a mark, he has had to disappoint in the meantime, and he has done so on several occasions. His initial rating of 82 proved far too much, and he has failed to trouble the judge in five starts this season, mixing between seven-furlongs and a mile.

What are the positives then!? Well, he works like a horse that should remain capable of winning races, and probably his most encouraging run of the year came at today’s venue. He was gelded in September, which might yet allow for some improvement, and I do think that the mile is what he wants. We are big outsiders, but this is not the greatest race in the world, so we live in hope! Gerald Mosse rides.

All the best,
Ed.
