Global Spirit

Good morning from HQ! We are all still recovering from a busy and fun-filled open weekend at Newmarket. As usual, the crowds were great, and the games were competitive to say the least! A huge congratulations and well done to all the staff who did so much in preparation for the stable visits, and to all who organised and contributed to make the weekend such a success. A very well done to all!

It is back to regular business today as we send Global Spirit to Kempton this evening to run in the one-mile three-year-old handicap at 5.40. He has been performing consistently without managing to get his head in front, and again he ran well his last outing finishing second over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton.  Today we are trying a step up to a mile in the hope that this may eek out some improvement, and it will need to if he is to be competitive in a field containing some lightly-raced and unexposed rivals. With this in mind, I would be more hopeful than confident of his chance today.

All the best,

Ed.
