Roca Magica

Hello from Newmarket. After a weekend of high-class racing and the final Classic of the season, today’s action is a return to the bread and butter type competition. Our runners on Saturday in the main performed as expected with no pleasant surprises. Global Art may have been slightly unlucky after a tardy start put him on the backfoot early, he ran on relatively well to be beaten ¾ of a length. He is not one to give up on yet.

It is a quieter day on the runner front from La Grange with our sole competitor being Roca Magica in the Nursery at Kempton over 7f. She returns here after showing improved form at the course on her Nursery debut over 6f in late August. She was drawn wide in 10 and after being held up early in the contest made decent headway in the home straight to finish second beaten a length. The value of the form is difficult to access at this stage but she seems to have come forward for the run and we hope the step up to 7f will also help her cause. David Probert again takes the ride and while there are plenty of unexposed types in opposition, I hope she will have a decent EW chance.

All the best,

Ed.
