Lucky Number Seven

Thu 16 March 2017

We have had some luck up at Newcastle lately and we sent Oud Metha Bridge up to Gosforth Park yesterday to contest a mile Maiden. He recently finished second to what could be a nice newcomer of Richard Hannon's at Lingfield and he set the standard on form. He broke well from stall one and he was soon sat on the tail of the leader as the field galloped down the mile straight. It became apparent that our colt was travelling much the best as they entered the final two furlongs and he went right away to win by six lengths.

Whilst this was a taking performance from our horse it is unlikely he had to improve to win this contest in the manner he did. The potential improver in the race faded to finish third and it would be hard if the handicapper puts him up for what was a visually impressive display. He looked to stay the mile well here and he will more than likely stay at this trip when he is next seen in handicap company.

Congratulations must go to Mr Mohammed Jaber, he has been a big supporter of La Grange and it is fantastic to get the first of what we hope will be many winners for him this season. It was a special victory as Oud Metha Bridge was homebred and is out of Mr Jaber's Pivotal mare Central Force who won for us at Newmarket in 2007. This was our seventh winner of the year and it is fantastic to get early winners on the board. Well done to all the team.
