Listed filly Tameen is sold on at Tattersalls

Wed 05 December 2012

On what was a staggering day of trade at Tattersalls yesterday, TAMEEN was purchased by the classic winning Japanese stud, Shimokobe Farm for 130,000 guineas.
This beautiful looking filly found herself back in the Tattersalls sales ring for the second time this year and the daughter of Shirocco increased her value by 50,000 guineas this time round after gaining some valuable black type as a four year old. Ed, who knew the family well, secured the filly for 80,000 guineas at the February Sale earlier in the year for American based owner, the Honorable Earle I Mack. Out of the Nashwan mare Najah, a champion three-year-old filly in Italy, Tameen was then rated 100 on the Flat and had won three races whilst under the care of John Dunlop. Her pedigree includes Mehthaaf, Irish 1,000 guineas winner and Champion three year old filly 2004 and champion sprinter and sire, Elnadim. One of the highlights of the sale on the day, she had been purchased with a view to picking up some proper black type and she duly obliged when second in the John Doyle Buckhounds Stakes at Ascot in May.
