Global Starts February With A Bang

Fri 10 February 2017

Global Revival looking pleased with himself this morning.

Global Revival returned to Lingfield yesterday and we hoped he could improve on his recent second at the Surrey venue. Being drawn six of the six runners was a slight concern but Josephine Gordon soon had him in an ideal position tracking the leader Oberyn. The early fractions were only fair but our son of Kyllachy travelled sweetly throughout the contest. As the field approached the furlong pole our gelding was sent on to win his race and he held on well from the fast finishing Mullarkey by half a length.

We may have benefited from a canny ride but this was a competitive small field Nursery and it was a career best effort from Global Revival. The handicapper cannot be too hard on him but he will now have to step up in class when he is next seen. There are a lack of opportunities for him at this time of year and so he will have a short break before returning when the turf campaign starts. Josephine feels that he will be able to get further than 1m2f in time.

Congratulations must go to Global Revival's owner Dr Hon and we hope it is the first of many winners for him in 2017. He is now a big supporter of the yard and there looks to be some promising two year olds amongst his string. We will not have many runners during February and so it was great to get a winner on the board with the first runner of the month.
