Global Art Takes Wolverhampton By Storm

Sun 28 April 2019

Global Art

Global Art produced a fantastic performance under a terrific Gerald Mosse ride at Wolverhampton in the mile and a quarter 0-75 handicap last night, securing his second career victory in the process.

There was obvious concern after declarations that Global Art’s wide draw could prove problematic, although a pair of non-runners reducing the field to eight certainly did no harm in that department. Still, it was a fine effort by Gerald Mosse and Global Art to get across early and find a stalking position behind early leaders Bleu Et Noir and Casina Di Notte – who significantly compromised his chance by almost running out at the first bend. Global Art settled into a nice rhythm behind this pair for the majority of the contest, before being roused into action by the sweeping move made by Romain de Brut on his outer just over three-furlongs from home.

Alive to the danger, Global Art responded immediately and took it up rounding the home bend, before powering clear in the straight to win by an authoritative two and a quarter-lengths. This was a similarly impressive performance to when Global Art broke his maiden at Chelmsford last August, and the handicapper had a significant say in the aftermath of that victory. So, a similar outcome must be anticipated this time, but a repeat of this performance would surely see him go close again next time out.

Global Art returned home in good health, but is likely to be given a short break before his next run as it seems that he is best fresh.

The son of Dutch Art has now taken his career record to two wins and five places from 15 starts, and hopefully there is plenty more to come from this likeable and generally consistent performer. We send our warmest congratulations to his owner Dr Johnny Jon, and thank all the team in the yard for all their continued efforts.
