Arctic Spirit
Hello from Newmarket. The rain has finally arrived, but to such an extent that it has had a dramatic effect on the going at various tracks. Whilst that is a positive for some of our runners tomorrow it has put paid to the chances of Arnarson, who has been withdrawn from Brighton today.
As a result I rely on just Arctic Spirit today, in the 6.25 at Chelmsford. An honest and genuine filly that is quietly progressive, she is favoured by the conditions of this novice auction. I notice that she is drifting in the betting, and Buckingham, Stellar Comet and Rockingham are likely to provide stiff opposition. Despite that, this filly has yet to let us down, and I feel as though she can go well under a positive ride. Most Intello's want further than six furlongs, but having apparently been outstayed over seven last time out, this seems the sensible move. Tom Marquand travels up from Brighton to take the mount and I feel she has an each way chance.
