Al Nafoorah Dishes It Out To Her Rivals

Al Nafoorah

Al Nafoorah is an excellent five star Lebanese restaurant in Dubai and our filly  appears to have been very well named has she has also earned a reputation for excellency and consistency this season. Her only below par run came at Windsor recently when she was ridden too aggressively and faded in the closing stages.

We were expecting Lamloom to be ridden aggressively from his low draw at Nottingham yesterday and we were very mindful this time to not get our filly caught in a pace dual upfront. P J McDonald slotted her in at the rear of the field and she settled well, in behind the honest early gallop set by the favourite Lamloom. As the five runners raced for home the daughter of Bated Breath was travelling noticeably well and she gradually made ground up under a very confident ride. As she drew level with the leader she was given three reminders to ask her to go and win her race and our filly responded to go just over a length clear.

She won a shade cosily and this was a career best performance from Al Nafoorah. Everything fell right here as she handled the easy ground, she benefited from a good gallop and a confident ride. The handicapper is likely to give her a new rating around the 80 mark. Given how tough our filly is we have given her an entry in a fillies’ handicap at Glorious Goodwood where she will carry a six pound penalty and if she is in good form next week she may head there next as a good gallop could well suit her in the higher grade.

Congratulations to Mr Mohammed Jaber her owner, we are delighted that Al Nafoorah is back on an upward curve and we hope she will continue to give you more fun throughout this campaign. Well done to everyone here at La Grange, the hard work is being rewarded and we have managed to maintain a consistent stream of winners lately. Long may it continue and here is hoping we can have a winner at Glorious Goodwood next week.
