Toro Dorado

Bay Gelding
DOB: 24 Feb 2016
Toronado x Rawoof (Nayef)
Owner: R Foden, M Mitchell & Plows

Toro Dorado is a son of Toronado. He is a dual Group 1 winning miler winning The Sussex Stakes (Gr. 1) as a three-year-old and The Queen Anne Stakes (Gr. 1) as a four-year-old. He also won The Champagne Stakes (Gr. 2) as a two-year-old. This colt’s mother Rawoof was trained by Ed for Sheikh Hamdan.

Toro Dorado began his career in six-furlong novices but looked a likely sort to improve once handicapping over further.

On his seasonal bow as a three-year-old, Toro Dorado showed the benefit of a step up in trip with an encouraging fourth at Chelmsford. Following a good effort at Epsom he managed to get his head in front under a brilliantly timed Oisin Murphy ride at Wolverhampton.

He has proved a revelation over the winter, winning four races for connections and he looks to be improving all the time.

We are extremely hopeful he can remain competitive and progress nicely over the course of the year.
