Tabadul

Bay Gelding
DOB: 04 Feb 2001
Cadeaux Genereux x Amaniy (Dajur)
Owner: Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum

Tabadul is from the family of Muhbubh, who won twice as a two-year-old including the 1988 Group 2 Princess Margaret Stakes, and Sayedah, who won the 2000 renewal of the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes as well as being Listed-placed in France.

Tabadul won his only start as a two-year-old before being turned out for a winter break. His training regime in 2004 was plagued by injury so he was turned away again for the remainder of the season.

Tabadul ran twice in 2005 before finally getting off the mark at Beverley to land the 1m2f Eltherington Group Handicap Stakes.

Tabadul made a winning reappearance in May 2006, landing a 1m2f handicap on the all-weather at Kempton, where he kicked five lengths clear of his nearest rival. One month later, he returned to the scene of his impressive all-weather win and ran well to finish runner-up to the subsequent John Smith's Cup winner Fairmile.

Tabadul was next sighted in August, where he ran well to finish second in a heritage handicap at Goodwood. He was disappointing on his last start of the year on soft ground.

We were delighted when he won his first start of 2007 at the Dubai Racing Carnival. He travelled well throughout the 1m2f contest and came with a strong run to land the International Rated Stakes.

He then well on his return to England, finishing fifth in the Rosebery Stakes and fourth in a valuable handicap at Epsom. Tabadul regained the winning thread at Lingfield next time out, always travelling like winner and picking up well in the hands of Richard Hills. He then returned to Epsom, finishing fourth in the Rose Bowl Stakes.

A trip to Royal Ascot then beckoned for Tabadul, where he ran in the Wolferton Handicap. It rained all day and the ground was changed to soft which did not suit him at all. He was handy until three furlongs out but soon weakened and was given an easy time.

He ran at Goodwood after this and, although he was prominent in the early stages, he was hampered as he started to weaken and was soon eased. He continued his career with Musabah Al Muhairi.
