Perla Blanca

Grey Filly
DOB: 02 Mar 2014
Dalakhani x Trend Line (Holy Roman Emperor)
Owner: Mrs Kate Smith

This filly is by the Arc winner Dalakhani and she is bred to stay well as she is out of the Holy Roman Emperor mare Trend Line, who stayed twelve-furlongs and is from the family of the Derby second Daliapour

Perla Blanca only joined us for the start of the 2018 season, and has been bought for amateur rider Sophie Smith to ride. A tough and consistent filly, she was a fine second at Ayr on her seasonal return, before winning in very impressive style when upped to two miles at Doncaster. It was a thrilling first success for Perla and Sophie, though there was drama to follow.

An issue with the stalls she had displayed for previous connections flared up again as she refused to load at both Carlisle and Newbury in August. A lot of remedial work from Gary and Craig Witheford was required, and it did the trick, leading to Perla running again before the close of the season at both Lingfield and Newbury.

The hard work has paid off, with perla Blanca and SOphie Smith returning to the track in superb form this season. She went one better than at Ayr a year ago when winning the mile and five-furlong 0-65 handicap in May, before following up with a stylish victory at Doncaster in July. A breeding career awaits for Perla at some stage, but hopefully there are more races to be won with her before then!
