Court Masterpiece

Bay Colt
DOB: 12 May 2000
Polish Precedent (USA) x Easy Option (IRE) (Prince Sabo)

Court Masterpiece is out of three-time winning sprinter Easy Option and is a half-brother to Group 3 winner Maybe Forever. He is from the family of Classic Park, a triple winner whose victories included the 1997 Irish 1000 Guineas, and Rumpipumpy, a six-time winner whose career highlight came when landing the Grade 2 Diana Handicap in the US.

The consistent Court Masterpiece won seven times during his career with Ed, breaking his maiden as a juvenile and landing the Listed Thoroughbred Stakes, run at Goodwood in 2003, having been marginally touched off in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier that summer.

As a four-year-old, Court Masterpiece landed the International Handicap at Ascot, but his career soared to new heights as a five-year-old, winning a Listed race at Goodwood before being narrowly touched off in a pair of Group 3 contests.

However, he would gain compensation for those defeats when returned to the Sussex Downs, winning the Group 2 Lennox Stakes at the Glorious meeting before breaking his Group 1 duck in the Prix de la Foret at Longchamp in the autumn, repelling Caradak by a head.

As a proven top-tier performer, Court Masterpiece was well-fancied for the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes early in his six-year-old career but, after travelling strongly, he was badly hampered inside the final furlong and succumbed to Ad Valorem.

However, he would manage won double his Group 1 tally returned to his favoured Goodwood, landing the Sussex Stakes in fine fashion by two lengths. He was wonderful performer.
