Baasha was a promising perfomer at two, finishing not far behind the very smart Ghaiyyath on his second start, and then third at Brighton on his final outing as a juvenile.

Unfortunately he suffered with breathing problems at the outset of his three-year-old career, and was unable to put his best foot forward in two runs at Yarmouth and Beverley. He was subsequently sold, but returned to the yard, owned jointly by the Boss and an enthusiastic partnership.

After a wind operation and a few months recuperation, Baasha got his career back underway with an exellent staying-on fifth at Kempton in early October. He was placed on his next two starts, before running a slightly below-par race at Lingfield in late November and then again in December at the same venue.

However, returned to Chelmsford in early January, Baasha made amends in no uncertain fashion. Reunited with Rab Havlin, he was given an expert waiting ride and delviered on the post for a thrilling victory. The win gave us a victory with our very first runner of the New Year!

After a couple of below par efforts later in the AW season, Baasha has been put away with the intention to freshen him up ahead of a turf campaign later in the year.
