Achaeus

Bay Gelding
DOB: 28 Apr 2016
Tertullian x Anatola (Tiger Hill)
Owner: O.T.I Racing

Achaeus is a half-brother to the Melbourne Cup winner Almandin and the Gr.2 winner Atempo. His dam Anatola was smart on the track as well as, winning in Listed company over 12f. He is by the multiple Gr.3 winner Tertullian who stood in Germany and had a successful career as a sire.

Achaeus made his debut at Wolverhampton in November, showing promise to finish fifth, albeit well behind the principals. He improved on that when fourth at Chelmsford on his second start, and was subsequently put away for a couple of months, before earning a mark with his third run at Kempton in March.

Achaeus was a little bit of a disappointment on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton in early April, after which he was gelded. We hope that the procedure will allow him to fulfil his potential later in the year, and that his rating of 61 is well within his compass.
